Clinique Blended Face Powder Review

Sunday, May 01, 2016

Assalamualaikum and hello! This is a long overdue post in which I successfully uploaded all the pictures and accidentally forgot the draft's existence. Oh well. Anyway, I have been planning to get myself a good setting powder and Clinique came to the rescue. My concern was why I couldn't get my foundation appear as perfect as they were while I was at Clinique photoshoot and I was told to try this Clinique Blended Face Powder as it was exactly the powder they used to set my foundation at the studio. I'm never gonna look back I guess? I love this Blended Face Powder to the moon and back and I'm gonna restock once I finish this jar.

I am now using Clinique Blended Face Powder in shade 20 Invisible Blend as my daily setting powder after my foundation. It actually comes with a retractable brush as you can see in the pictures below but I rarely use the brush as I have my own bigger powder brush which is more satisfying to use. However it is very thoughtful of Clinique to provide the brush as well as it is helpful for travel purposes.

Clinique Blended Face Powder comes in a 35g jar (full size) and there are 3 shades to choose from which are Invisible Blend, Transparency 2 and Transparency 3 at Clinique Malaysia website. I'm not sure if they have more shades at their counter, so do go and check them out if you're interested to swatch before buying. Interesting enough, the shade Invisible Blend is not exactly that invisible. The powder is not even white to begin with, it is brown and it has a very sheer tint to it.

Clinique Blended Face Powder is very finely milled and a little definitely goes a long way. As you can see, the packaging comes with its own sifter for ease of application. I always turn the jar upside down, turn it back to normal position and give it a gentle shake before I open the lid. I then dip my brush in the powder on the sifter, tap it back on the lid's interior before I stamp the powder onto my foundation layered skin. After stamping the powder, I will lightly swipe the brush across my face to take off excess powder and even out the application of my Clinique Blended Face Powder.

Clinique Blended Face Powder definitely gives my skin a flawless, matte appearance and it stays for a good 4 hours in air-cond before I start feeling a tinge of oiliness on my face. Even when I sweat while walking from home to the LRT station in the morning, it does not wash off the perfect matte look and I still look freshly made up when I arrive at the office. Upon application, Clinique Blended Face Powder gives my skin a silky smooth canvas due to it's ultra fine properties. I can say that it truly sets my foundation as I usually found myself still looking quite presentable by the end of the day. I definitely need a touch up but I just need to blot and then pat a bit of powder to look matte again, that's all.

To conclude my review, let me sum up my thoughts on this lovely Clinique Blended Face Powder. Talking on the economic viewpoint, I say that for the price of RM109, Clinique Blended Face Powder leans on the expensive side (well it's Clinique after all, none of their products are cheap in Malaysia) but looking at the amount that you get and how long it will last, then your investment is definitely a brilliant decision. Clinique products are 100% fragrance free and allergy tested, so I can vouch that it would be safer on our skin. This is one major selling point that makes me love Clinique so much because they care about how we should treat our skin :) next, Clinique Blended Face Powder is very fine and you won't need a lot to set your foundation, and it will definitely last a long time if you use it for yourself only. It also makes my skin look good when worn on it's own. Yes, I tried using solely Clinique Blended Face Powder on my face before I go out for a quick errand and the outcome is awesome, I managed to skip the dreadful makeupless face.

So far, Clinique Blended Face Powder is the only powder I need to use after my foundation routine. With a layer of it on my face, I don't need to top with other powders as the pair of Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Clinique Blended Face Powder is powerful enough to make me look good and ready for the world. If you are looking for a setting powder and you are not stingy with your budget, I suggest you try Clinique Blended Face Powder as I really don't have anything bad to say about it. Till then and thank you for reading ^_^
