Why You Should Get Mini Batiste Dry Shampoo

Assalamualaikum and hello! I still remember the first time I watched Batiste promo video, it was so funny and I couldn't help myself from watching it repeatedly and laughing happily. Since I have been using all three variants for quite some time, I say they all smell so pleasant that I am not going to choose which one is the best, hehehe! What surprised me is that, Batiste dry shampoo gave my hair a nice volume uplift and my hair feels so light throughout the day. It smells great and no itchiness detected on my scalp.

1. Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

Hands down, the best bb cushion I ever tried! I actually stopped having faith in Korean brand BB and CC creams as all they did to my face was get oxidized and turn ashy which is not pretty. But Laneige restored my faith and came out as my love at first try :) Though it is a tad problematic at first with my oily skin (it melted in aircond and kinda clogged on some skin areas) but then the problem went away (I dont know what caused it and what makes it okay again) but seriously, this Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control does the following to my skin :

makes skin look brighter and healthier (someone asked "did you put extra effort on your makeup today coz you look really pretty" oh my gawd i was so happy to hear this!)
doesn't oxidize or became ashy at all
no, it doesn't keep shine at bay. i still need to blot but that's okay, somehow it looked more on the dewy side, not oil slick category.

2. La-Roche Posay Serozinc

This was bought by my brother before he came back from UK. Thanks bro I really love you to the moon and back! I wrote about it here if you wanna see what he got for me :) I am a sucker for toners and facial mists. When I can't get my toner, I bring a facial mist to refresh my face. Since this La-Roche Posay Serozinc is huge and it is insensible to chug it in my handbag, I only use it at home. After cleansing my face, I sprayed it on and I can say that I stopped getting little zits popping on my face within this month. I also don't get any face itchiness so, I'm loving this spray. I yet to check if it is available in Malaysia or not, but I got this after I saw Essie Button recommended it in her video ^_^ nice recommendation Essie, thank you for sharing!

3. Ephyra Skin Bar

If I only have one eye shadow to wear every day for the rest of my life, this would be it. So smooth, so pigmented, and it is my favourite shade of brown ^_^ it doesn't melt. It doesn't transfer, it doesn't crease no matter how hot the weather and how sweaty my face went. I have oily lids and by night, my eyeshadow still looks the same like it is freshly applied. Colourpop, I love you for creating this!

I applied the shadow with ZOEVA 232 Luxe Classic Shader and my finger, and I never regretted buying this ZOEVA brush simply because it works wonders! I used it in patting, brushing and blending motion and the outcome is perfect. Again, if you ask me to choose only 1 eyeshadow brush to go on for the rest of my life, ZOEVA 232 Luxe Classic Shader will be my choice. You have to get this brush. Get 10 of it, hahaha!

5. Breena Beauty Face Luxe Brush

There are so many beautiful facts of this Face Luxe Brush. First, it was created by Sabrina Tajudin, my number 1 inspiration in many things. Second, the brush is so pretty I wish I can bring it to sleep coz I don't wanna leave it unattended on the table (I just made myself sounded like a maniac, I dont care). Third, this Breena Beauty Face Luxe Brush works with almost everything! I never found a brush that is this fluffy, easy to hold and miraculously buffed every type of products (you name it : liquid, cream, powder, everything!) flawlessly on my face. My face became a perfect canvas thanks to Breena Beauty Face Luxe Brush ^_^ I can never thank Sabrina enough for her wonderful job and I hope Breena Beauty will continue producing miracle-level brushes for women of the world!

6. LA Girl Pro-Conceal HD Concealer in Medium Beige

Since I don't bring bottles of foundations or tubes of creams in my purse, I bring this LA Girl Pro-Conceal HD Concealer instead, hehe! I think it does not need any introduction as this is a worldwide HG product loved by many. I love it because apart from its ability to blend in perfectly without melting, creasing or looking splotchy throughout the day, I love the fact that it really does a very good job in the concealing department. It has many shades to choose from and I hope in the long run I'll be able to get a few more :) this is the ultimate saviour to fix my makeup, I say you should try LA Girl Pro-Conceal HD Concealer too.

7. Coolhijab : Organic Hair Serum
This product will have its own review post soon ^_^ Thanks to Halim for sending me this serum, I really can say that I found new love for my hijab-clad hair! This Coolhijab serum made my scalp feel like there is no weather too hot and being in air-conditioned surrounding resulted in my scalp feeling that there's ice running through it. When I get sweaty, my scalp didn't feel itchy at all (I have sensitive scalp) and when I arrived home at night, my hair didn't smell bad and it feels light and not even damp or limp. I think it would be suitable to everyone, doesn't matter whether you're wearing Hijab or not, this Coolhijab serum is definitely not an item to be missed ^_^ do contact me if you wanna buy it okay?

Bawang Ladies Hair Fall Control Set Review

Assalamualaikum and hello! I have been haunted by a disastrous hairfall problem since I did hair rebonding and I am still grateful that I didn't go bald due to my thick volume of hair. What an intro, hahaha! Seriously, hairfall wouldn't bother me except the fact that I have to sweep my room every two days. I've tried quite a few shampoo brands and sadly all the drugstore ones didn't work. Only one high-end brand works in helping my hairfall problem but I am too poor to buy the entire range yet, so here I am weeping and sweeping the messy tangles on my room floor.

Thanks to HiShop, I was given this new products from Bawang brand which is their Ladies Hair Fall Control Set consisting of a shampoo and a conditioner. As you can see in the picture above and below, this set comes in a gorgeous red colour theme but the shampoo and conditioner (product) are not red when I squeeze them out, or else it will look a bit scary but fun, hehe! So, before I proceed to telling you about my verdict, allow me to share with you on some facts about hair fall among ladies.

Reasons of hair fall :

Pregnancy : hormonal imbalance
Stress, depression, weight gain and weight loss : mental pressure affects nutrient absorption, hence the hair fall
Dyeing, perming and rebonding : I'm guilty as charged, I rebonded my crazy hair 2 years ago. Chemical contents of those procedures damage scalp and leads to hair fall.

My verdict :

Since I have been using this shampoo daily for a week, I think I can share a bit on whether it is working or not. First of all, let me explain on why I use it every day. A few months ago I attended a haircare workshop and one of the speakers there told me that, if I wet my hair and scalp during bath, I will need to shampoo because all the dirts and sweats will clog my scalp when placed under running water. Shampooing is the only way to remove them all and let my scalp breath. I wear a headscarf from morning to night (usually every day) and I cannot afford not washing my hair because my scalp will feel oily and sweaty when I arrive home, yes I walk and hike the hill to get back home every day hence the sweaty part.

Ok back to the real verdict ^_^ this Bawang Ladies Hair Fall Control Set really does its job. Day 1, I can say that I have 20 hair falls during bath and while combing my hair. Day 3, only around 11 hair fall (yes I counted my strands of hair fall as I cannot show you my hair due to religion restriction) and by day 7 when I comb my hair, there is only 5 to 6 hair falls. This shampoo works in controlling hair fall, period.

I also noticed that along the course of using this Bawang Ladies Hair Fall Control Set, my hair smells great and every day it feels softer than the usual coarse frizzy hair of mine. My hair also feels lighter and less tangle detected so all in all, Bawang Ladies Hair Fall Control Set is a must try if you are having a hardcore hair fall problem.

Assalamualaikum and hello! Hair is women's crowning glory. Her pride, her invaluable tresses. But being a woman, I am not exempted from having some hair problems including frizziness, hair loss and itchy scalp. To find hair products that really work on my hair are like finding a needle in a haystack, it is nearly impossible. I dont know if my hair is destined to be this stubborn, but I'm glad that there are several products than have been very helpful to me in maintaining my hair's manageability. So, without further rambles, I present to you my budget style, hair saviours at the moment ;)

1. Ma Cherie Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner

I have been using this set since early 2014 and I say this is my number one moisturizing shampoo so far ^_^ i really fell in love with how it makes my hair soft, manageable and it smells so amazing that I (again and shamelessly) fell in love with my own imperfect tresses. It is like a therapy to me when using this Ma Cherie Moisture range and I always step out of the bath feeling all happy, positive and refreshed. The power of enjoying something simple, inexpensive and something that makes me feel pretty, I guess. I have rebelliously dry and frizzy hair, so I really need this Ma Cherie Moisture shampoo and conditioner to tame them. I suggest you to try the travel size first if you would like to buy this duo. It is available at all major pharmacies nationwide.

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo : Original

I was influenced to buy this one upon reading Sabrina Tajudin’s review of the whole range. I bought it at Cold Storage One Utama. Speaking of my dry hair, this Batiste Original dry shampoo is not meant to treat any specific hair condition as it only serves as an instant hair refresh in between shampoos. It cannot be substituted for the normal bath shampoo okay? I love this Batiste Original because it is true to its tagline, clean and classic. My hair and head feels and smells very fresh upon using it, and it gives my hair a light, manageable feeling. It gives a bit of volume as well in a very sophisticated manner, even my dry and frizzy hair looks good upon using this dry shampoo. Too bad I cannot show you the before and after picture but if my dry frizzy hair loves this, then I guess you with soft hair will look even more fabulous ^_^

3. L'Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil

This is my new favourite and sometimes I cannot avoid but think the Extraordinary Oil is actually better than it’s sister Mythic Oil. Apart from being nearly half a fraction cheaper than Mythic Oil, this Extraordinary Oil works far better on taming my frizzy hair. My hair was in the state of mess that even Einstein will scream Eureka! upon smoothing this oil all over my crazy tresses. I was literally struck in awe the first time I tried this oil and from then I swear I must always have this with me. It makes my hair feel silky smooth, truly manageable and frizziness reduced by 70% (please trust my calculation, hehe). I saw on adverts that this oil can be used before shampoo, after shampoo and before heat is applied (blow dry especially) to give you a fabulous after look. So far, I am irrevocably in love with it!

4. Good Virtues Co. : Happy & Heavenly Anti-Dandruff + Hair Fall Protection Shampoo
I first saw this on Jannah’s instagram. And then I saw it live on display at a local beauty shop in Melaka Sentral while I was about to board the bus back to Kuala Lumpur. Me being a volunteer lab rat, I cannot resist not buying. What more with a very cheap price tag of RM9.90 for 300ml, I refuse to leave the shop without taking one with me. There were a few variants and I chose Happy & Heavenly, the anti-dandruff shampoo with hair fall protection. It has organic black seed oil (habbatus sauda in Arabic). What more interesting is that the products of Good Virtues Co. are free from SLES, ALES, parabens and synthetic colourants. This shampoo comes with its sister conditioner as well but it was not sold at that shop so I haven’t gotten any chance to stumble upon it yet. I have been using this shampoo frequently for more than a month and it works on me just fine. I rarely get the itch on my scalp anymore (it does not disappear entirely though) and my hair fall is not that ridiculous like before. I think this shampoo’s workability depends on how frequent I use it. There was a few days where I was away and couldn’t bring it with me and my hair fall was a disaster. Anyhow since I’ve seen some improvements, I shall rate this shampoo as working on my condition, just not as excellent as Aveda’s Invati line maybe because of my diet and I don’t use its complete set. Give it a try will you? It’s our local product anyway, your investment will help Good Virtues Co.’s growth :) my blogger friends said that apart from being found at local beauty shop / kedai jamu, Good Virtues Co. products can be bought from Jaya Grocer as well. 5. L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Mask

I actually hate using hair conditioners because they are slimy, slippery and I do not have the patient to wait one minute two minutes whatever minutes in the shower doing nothing before washing them off. However it is a different story when I first used this L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Mask. All my deepest hatred towards the slipperiness of hair mask/conditioners went down the drain because of how soft my hair feels like after this mask. It is truly nourishing even after a day, my (again) rebelliously frizzy hair still looks good and not like any mad scientist. It smells good too, but a bit intense and the scent is not as light as Ma Cherie’s fragrance. Never mind, it makes me happy and content, and that’s more than enough.

Well, I hope I did not bore you with my frizzy hair story. I am truly sincere in sharing this because to me, finding the perfect hair solution that does not turn me into a beggar is quite hard as most drugstore brands does not work on me. Been to salons and ‘cried’ paying the expensive treatments that really works is not the luxury I could afford monthly so I have to keep trying to find the best and most economic solution. I wear a headscarf but it does not mean I can slack off from taking care of my tresses. Healthy hair is the goal for all women who cares about her self, it is her confidence no matter her head is wrapped with a shawl all day or if she always proudly flaunt it. To me, all women should get the best treatment for their hair; their pride and their crowning glory. Toodles!

Assalamualaikum and hello! When I learned that I was invited to discover Aveda's Invati™ range, I felt so delighted because Invati™ range is what I seriously need due to my hair fall problem. This was also my first time getting to know Aveda closer since I never used this brand before. I learned about Aveda through reading Fiona's blog Street-Love and I can say that it screams deluxe.

The Invati™ range is one of their numerous offerings, with 97% naturally derived ingredients and have been on the top selling shelve ever since it was introduced in 2012. The activity awaited us after the introduction session was to depot rosemary plant. Remember the Kitchen Garden they taught Umbari villagers to practice? Well, this is what we (partially) learned, hehe! Rosemary is useful in cooking, as it is one of the herb ingredients for many dishes. The expert (man in black shirt, sorry I forgot his name) taught us step by step procedures on how to depot a baby plant to its own pot.

Steps to depot rosemary :

Fill in a quarter of your pot with pieces of broken pot (for draining system)
Top it with soil mixture (it was prepared beforehand by the expert, from his nursery) until three quarter full
Put it your rosemary plant (cut off some of its root)
Top it again with soil until you nearly reach the pot's brim
Scatter some fertilizer on the soil (organic, of course)

The tips that we got from our Mr.Expert about rosemary, it is quite hard to be taken care of. Rosemary can die to lack of water, and also from being excessively watered. It needs sunlight, but it cannot stand direct sunlight. So the best practice in taking care of rosemary plant is to keep it at a shady balcony or somewhere nearby an open window. It also dies from fungus infection, which is very microscopic. He told us that "if you see a tiny white dot on rosemary leaf, cut it off. There are already thousands of fungus in that tiny pinhole-sized dot". Lucky for me, mom is at home to take care of my rosemary, I won't be able to keep it alive within one month I think? hehehe~

All in all, I really had fun during this event and I discovered more than what I expected. I fell in love with the Aveda Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate, I wanna get it soon as it really helps to make me feel relieved and calm. It's a stress-away potion! I went home and already used up the Invati™ shampoo, conditioner and scalp revitalizer and I found that my hair fall reduced since the first wash, and I am not kidding about it. Since the price is quite a 'challenge' to me, I shall have to wait till my hefty pay day comes before I can go to one of Aveda's salon or experience center to get the full sized set ^_^ Thanks a bunch to the awesome Aveda team for the meaningful event!

June's Bag of Love : My Summer of Happiness

Assalamualaikum and hello! I'm back after days of silence, hehe :p Do you know that I'm now in my exam week? Yeah I'm done with two papers so far, and I have another 2 papers to kill in 16 days time =_='' And now I decided to flip the table (for exam) and show some love to my dearest blog and of course, beloved readers ^_^ err, I hope there are people who misses me and my rants, haha!

I'm definitely excited to show my June's Bag of Love, which arrived last afternoon. It's a sweet treat for me, after 2 days of insufficient sleep and expanding dark circles around my eyes XD

Here's my June's star!!

I really love the design of June's bag, it really made me get the "going to the beach" feeling with its simplicity, and the laid-back blue and white stripes ^_^ the size is big enough for us girls to put in our essentials, hehe~

Now here are the summer essentials that I found in my bag. An excellent mixture of facial products, skin protecting lotion, hair care, perfume and makeup brush. The participating brands are Vaseline, Elizabeth Arden, Cremorlab, Clairol and Definite.

Here's Definite Foundation brush, full size. Retailing at RM118 each, it is suitable to be used with liquid foundation and BB creams to ensure a longer lasting application. This is my first ever foundation brush, thank you Bag of Love! The bristles, I believe, are synthetic and they are quite soft but very dense. I can't wait to try it ^_^

These cute little babies are Cremorlab Hydration Trial set. The full sized products range from RM69 to RM169. The small pot contains 3ml of fresh water gel, next to it in the white tube is 3ml of aqua essence water fluid. The clear bottle contains 8ml of essence tonic and the last white tube on the right contains 3ml of sun protective with SPF35PA++. Cremorlab is a brand originating from Korea, and it is available at Muse by Watsons, Sunway Pyramid. Based on what is written on its tube, these range claims to offer highly effective hydration, whitening, soothing, refreshing and anti-wrinkle, and suitable for all skin types.

Next is Clairol Professional Visible Repair Intensive Mask. The full size is 200ml retailing at RM69 and what I received is a 30ml sized product. I'm grateful to receive this as it suits my hair type well :)

Who doesn't like perfume vials? In this edition we get to try Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honeysuckle EDT spray. The full sized item contains 100ml and retails at RM185 each. I did a sniff test and the result is amazing! I really enjoy the freshness that this perfume has to offer ^_^

It is quite unusual for hair mask to come alone in a box isn't it? Presenting its counterpart, Clairol Professional Color Radiance Shampoo! I received a 50ml sized shampoo, and for your info the full sized ones retails at RM43 with 200ml worth of product inside. I'm thinking of what to do with this shampoo since I don't color my hair, hehe ^_~

Another full sized product in this month's bag, Vaseline Healthy White lotion with SPF24/PA++. Retailing at RM16.90, it contains 200ml of product. Since it was introduced in Malaysian market, I have always loved Vaseline lotions because of its hydrating properties and lovely smell ^_^ Users are advised to lather this lotion on their skin 20 minutes before stepping out into the sun.

And lastly, here's what I won from Bag of Love facebook page contest ^_^ Do you know that Bag of Love will give away full sizes of the products in the bag each month? And there will be from 1 to 5 full sizes up for grab, for each product (except for the brush)! You only need to comment your review of that product when Bag of Love asked on their page ^_^ easy right? As for me, my winning comment was for the Burt's Bees Richly Replenishing Cocoa and Cupuacu Butters Body Lotion (April bag) but instead of getting the lotion, they replaced it with this Burt's Bees Sensitive Night Cream, which is something new to me ^_^ I never used any of Burt's Bees facial products and this is the first time I get to try a night cream, yeayy!!

There are also some vouchers in the bag, and I'm happy that finally there is a voucher that I can absolutely benefit from ^_^

So if you ask my verdict for June's Bag of Love, I definitely give it 5 stars! Fyi, I received Bag of Love's April and May edition through The Butterfly Project collaboration with Bag of Love. This June's bag is my own purchase. I am highly satisfied with all three bags' contents, and I'm looking forward to own the upcoming editions from Bag of Love ^_^ I highly recommend you guys to subscribe to Bag of Love because so far, if you subscribe only for 1 month, there is still no delivery charge (some beauty box subscriptions are marking up their prices and charging for delivery if you subscribe only for 1 month). I hope Mi Mi (founder of Bag of Love) will not raise any charges for us subscribers as we are truly deeply madly in love with Bag of Love. From my point of view as a student and a beauty addict, RM39.90 for a month's subscription is affordable, looking at the total worth of products we receive in the bag :)
