Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation Review
Monday, May 26, 2014
Assalamualaikum and hello! To all my Malaysian readers, I hope you are aware that FINALLY the awesome cosmetic brand, Bourjois Paris, is coming to Malaysia and will be launched on June 1st, 2014. YEAYYYY! From Bourjois Malaysia facebook page, I learned that they're launching a kiosk this weekend at Sunway Pyramid, Lower Ground 1. I'm so gonna come, I don't care even I have to travel from Melaka that Sunday morning. My hunger and thirst for Bourjois products has long been suppressed due to its unavailability on our shores.
Anyhoos, straight to the point now. I'm gonna review Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation which I bought last year. I got myself the shade 85 Miel Subtil. It is a chocolate colour tone with yellow undertone, suitable for my tanned skin. As a person with oily skin, this babe is definitely my best saviour, hands down! I wasn't planning on bagging this, I only had the Healthy Mix Foundation on my mind but when I saw that there is a mineral mousse foundation, I told myself "why not?". So I bought it, without having the slightest knowledge about how well it performs, luckily it works extremely well ^_^ As you can see in the image below, it comes with a brush called "perfecting brush". However, I didn't get the brush as mine was sold individually and not in a box with a brush like our friends in the UK has access to. Nevermind, I use my fingers instead, hehe!

The jar size is no bigger than my palms but the 18ml quantity you get inside it definitely can last you quite some time. Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation claims to be a pampering mousse with mineral powders. It says that there will be no mask effect when you use it, I love this as everybody knows that wearing makeup and ending up looking like you have a different tone mask is a makeup sin XD This Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation claims to melt perfectly onto skin, allows skin to breathe, and maintains essential hydration. It is also dermatologically tested and comes with a non pore blocking formula. The only drawback to a mousse product like this is that, it is sold in jars, and users will have to dip their finger to scoop out the product which could be unhygienic. But well, you can always use a brush if you don't like the latter.
The consistency of this Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation is like a light mousse. It spreads evenly and blends effortlessly well on my skin. It does not feel heavy at all and I sometimes forgot that I have makeup on my skin, seriously no kidding ;) I use my fingers to apply and blend the mousse all over my face and I never used any brush with it. For me, a little goes a long way. It heavily stains my fingers so it becomes like an indicator to me, telling that I have scooped out enough product or I have went too much with it. Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation has a matte powdery finish on my skin. I never need to set it with any finishing powder, not even loose or translucent powder as there is definitely no need of it at all. Oh, to make application easier especially if you have dry skin, when using any mousse makeup, make sure you prep your skin with moisturizer first so that blending will not be a problem. Even if you have oily skin, always moisturize first!
Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation stays well on my skin regardless how long I had it on. Since Malaysia's tropical climate is a factor that melts makeup, makes skin went sweaty and oily, I'm proud to say that Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation helped me a lot in combating oily face with makeup on. My face does not get oily even after 5 hours in air-conditioned surrounding. When I'm under the sun, only my nose will get a bit oily and some tiny dots of perspiration and that is after 3 hours of being in the car, walking under the sun, getting into some buildings with and without aircond. For your information, I have oily combination skin. My T-zone is oily and the other parts are sometimes normal, sometimes dry. How "convenient" for me right =_='' However, this foundation has a light to medium coverage so it does not really help in covering acne scars. I usually pat some Tea Tree Concealer that I got from The Body Shop on the blemishes before I start with the foundation. So, how do I wear this foundation? here's the sequence :
1. I always start with a cleansed skin.
2. Next I will apply some moisturizer, and then followed by sunscreen.
3. I have some acne scars, so I pat on some concealer to cover them.
3. I have some acne scars, so I pat on some concealer to cover them.
4. Then I smooth Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation all over my face and blend.
5. Continue with eye and lip makeup. Done.
I am definitely very happy with Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation. I regret buying just one jar of this foundation, I should have brought 2 or 3 jars. I cannot find it anymore on Bourjois website, I suspect it has been discontinued :'( Well, I guess that's all for now, and I'm gonna review Bourjois Heathy Mix Foundation and also Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation next. Just drop me a comment if you have anything to ask about this foundation ya ^_^
So, have you tried any Bourjois foundations yet? What foundation you're loving so far?

i wonder what it smells like! i got the Bourjois foundations in that chocolate cap. it smells so good and it looks so nice on my skin!
ReplyDeletehaha I forgot to mention the smell. It smells like chemical, but it is not too overpowering and I can say that it is not busuk. Well, it depends on how an individual define smells kot? But it is definitely chemical and not fruity like Healthy Mix.

DeleteWow definitely a good review and insight on the product itself. Well I can't wait to get my hands on the healthy mix serum too and congrats on your winning. I guess the only set back is that their first outlet is all the way in Sunway Pyramid, In Shaa Allah they open more outlets soon around the klang valley. Oh and as Ika said, if possible do update us on the price range. At least I can start saving before getting their products. Not gonna travel all the way to Sunway Pyramid for just 1 item.. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you kakak ^_^ yelah, Sunway Pyramid is quite far from KL, i never thought they would open there. Kalau OU ke, boleh la digest. Ni sebab Mieza pun dah habis belajar, so no longer in Shah Alam, takleh ke Sunway selalu. InsyaAllah if I have the chance to visit them I will update to you guys on what they have and the price list as well :)
DeleteThank you for commenting, I'll reply as soon as possible!
