Achieve Modern Matte Look with L'oreal Mat Magique

Friday, July 25, 2014

Assalamualaikum and hello! I was invited to the launch of L'oreal Paris latest addition in their makeup range, which is the Mat Magique All-In-one Compact with SPF34 PA+++ and the Color Riche Moist Matte lipsticks. This new range is aimed to help makeup users achieve the latest Parisian trend which is Modern Matte, a famous runway look fresh from Paris Fashion Week. This Modern Matte look is all about creating a light, smooth effect that is radiant and fresh. This is where the shine-free, perfectly poreless looking skin effect comes in, lasting all day long and making us forget what touch-ups are ^_^
The new Mat Magique All-In-one Compact comes with a superior unique mineral called the Natural Volcanic Perlite that mattifies the skin look by absorbing sebum, giving us the shine-free, freshly applied makeup look even though hours has passed by. Firstly, Mat Magique helps to prime our skin with its skin balancing properties and the matte, shine-free look can last up to 12 hours** even in hot and humid weather like in Malaysia. Next, it covers blemishes and imperfections even though it is actually a lightweight powder, making the wearer's skin look very smooth as if there is foundation on. Thirdly, Mat Magique protects the skin with SPF34 PA+++ by offering a broad spectrum protection against UVA/UVB rays, so whenever we have it on our mind can rest a bit from feeling worried over exposure to sunlight :)
During the event, audiences were introduced to the new Mat Magique All-In-One Compact and Color Riche Moisture Matte Lipstick. We got to experience them through product demo, makeover and hands-on experiment. Celebrities Erin Malek and Megan Tan were there as well to share their experiences in using the powder and the lipstick. They showed us two experiments using the powder, comparing it with brand X. Using Mat Magique, oil blotting paper shows no traces of oil on skin while brand X shows that oil production cannot be hide. The next experiment was done with water and oil. A small bottle of oil is poured into a glass of water, then Mat Magique powder and brand X powder is poured into the separate glasses. The water with Mat Magique absorbs the powder and no oil layer can be seen on top, showing that sebum and sweat cannot take control of the skin when we use Mat Magique All-In-One Compact :) However for water added with brand X powder, oil layer is clearly seen on the surface and then the powder clots and clumps inside the water, showing that it has no ability to absorb oil and water.
L'oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Compact is available in 3 shades specially formulated for South East Asian skin tones which are R1 Rose Ivory, N2 Nude Vanilla and G2 Golden Ivory, priced for RM39.90 each and RM19.90 each for the refills. I personally feel that they should have come out with more shades as the darkest shade G2 is not even dark and I believe that many people especially here in Malaysia will have problems finding a matching shade, especially for sporty tanned girls. L'oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick is available in 8 shades, retailing at RM35.90 each. I am always a neutral when it comes to giving opinions on lipstick but with this range, I say that the colours are all so fun and they will be able to match many skin tones so yeah, I love the Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick especially after I have tried them :) Both products can be obtained at all major pharmacies and retail outlets in Malaysia.

Reviews on both products will be up soon, watch out for this space ya ;)

    1. Itulah, 3 shades only, macam unbelievable pun ye jugak but what to do.. maybe you can just go to the pharmacies and swatch the testers :) I used G2 yesterday and it appeared just nice on my skin. however i tend to get tanned so I hope I can maintain my skin tone supaya tak burn lagi, hehe

  2. I've bought this but yet to try it. Now I'm really excited after reading about the oil absorption demo! But yes, the shade range is terrible. I'm hoping G2 works out for me.

  4. Nice, I just saw this the other day when I was in Watson, but wasn't prepared to purchase it yet as I still haven't finish my face powder yet. Maybelline also came out with a new one, but I guess it happens when their from the same company. Different brand, different focus group. Anyway just wanted to share that I went to a Bodyshop makeup workshop few years back and one thing I learned from the makeup artist is that for face powder it's okay to take a shade lighter than our original skin tone, b'coz once it absorbs any moisture from our skin the color will turn a shade darker. So getting a shade lighter is the best option.
